The EuroNKS is a payment system for the execution of interbank SEPA Credit Transfers and SEPA Direct Debits in euro. The EuroNKS payment system became operational on June 6th 2016 in accordance with the National SEPA Migration Plan.
EuroNKS participants can be:
- Croatian National Bank (CNB)
- credit institutions (banks and savings banks) with their head offices in the Republic of Croatia that have been granted authorisation from the CNB
- branches of credit institutions from the other EU Member States for which their competent authorities have notified the CNB of the establishment of a branch in the Republic of Croatia
- branches of third-country credit institutions authorised by the CNB to establish a third-country credit institution branch
In the EuroNKS banks have their clearing accounts in euro and the system processes interbank euro payments of SEPA credit transfers and direct debits.
The system is interoperable with retail payment systems of other EU Member States with which it is connected indirectly through the Croatian National Bank, thus achieving full SEPA reachability for all EuroNKS participants.
The settlement of euro payment transactions is executed in the payment system TARGET2-HR national component.
